Luo Yang (born 1984) was born and raised in Liaoning Province, China. In 2009, he graduated from Lu Xun Art Academy, a prestigious art school in Shenyang. Trained as a graphic designer, he decided to pursue his interest and talent in photography. Currently based in Beijing and Shanghai, he works as a freelance photographer. In her work, highly staged portraits and carefully composed poses intersect with a raw yet indistinct snapshot aesthetic. After holding numerous exhibitions in Asia and abroad, Ro gained international acclaim and was featured in major media outlets such as ARTE, ZDF Aspekte, Spiegel Online, and Le Figaro International. In 2018, the monograph ``GIRLS'' was published on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of her serialization. In the same year, she was selected by the BBC as one of the 100 most inspiring women in the world. Recently, she won the Jimei x Arles Women Photographer's Award. Currently based in China.
