Luo Yang is a photographer based in Shanghai and Beijing, China. This work is a card set that combines the essence of her two representative series "GIRLS" and "YOUTH".
 
Currently, Luo Yang is described by Ai Weiwei, one of China's leading artists, as "a promising rising star in the Chinese photography world."　
He has held numerous exhibitions in Asia and overseas, and has received high acclaim. Highly dramatic portraits and carefully constructed poses intersect with a raw and blurry snapshot-like aesthetic. The artist explores and records with a film camera the changes that are taking place among young people in modern China, which have not been taken up much in the world until now. The portrait subjects are very realistic, showing people's strength and vulnerability at the same time. At first glance, people may appear to be delinquent and self-confident, but at the same time they are filled with anxiety and conflict.
In her first series, GIRLS, she has continued to frame women in order to gain a deeper understanding of the lives of Chinese women and of themselves. Empathy plays an important role in this relationship between author and model, highlighting shared feelings, interests and experiences.
In her latest series, Youth, Lo Yang defies stereotypes, questions gender norms and sensitively shines a light on the diversity of China's young generation. As such, her work explores themes of youth, nudity and femininity, and celebrates personal development.
The card set made with 600g thick paper allows you to casually enjoy the act of appreciating the work. You can decorate the cards according to the time and place, and the 22-card set is all the same size.
