本書には、スイス・アルプスのリゾート地サンモリッツにあるクルム・ホテル滞在中に描かれたドローイングを収録。山々の風景や野生動物、ホテルを象徴するインテリアなど、旅先で目にしたささやかなアルプスの風景が、マルクスならではのシンプルな線とユーモアによって描かれている。
