Vinca Petersen / No System 2nd edition2020
No System is back!
"No System" is a collection of works by British artist and activist Vinca Petersen. Containing over 200 Vinca Petersen photographs, diary entries and ephemera, No System tells the story of a decade of travel around Europe attending free parties and outdoor festivals in the 1990s.
At that time, the party scene movement was regulated, and DJs and young people flowed from England to mainland Europe, loading trucks with food and sound systems and playing outdoor festivals, repeating the journey. Vinca also traveled with him and continued to capture his daily life with his camera. This is a record of a European youth and a woman who lived in the 90's, and is a work that symbolizes the culture of the time.
"We don't rebel against the system, we live outside it. We give our music to those who need it for free, we don't ask for anything in return, we just let them wander as they please." For thousands of years, tribal beats have been ticking across the globe.Technology has added to that unbroken rhythm.Age doesn't matter, background doesn't matter. We are still here. The future also exists.
Welcome to our way of life…“
This is the second edition that is a carbon copy of the original published by Steidl in 1999. It's been 20 years since the first edition, but "No System" is still there in this book.
