Drawing inspiration from Afrofuturism, the idea of gaining, Muzinga proposes an imaginary world in which the existence of cyborgs does not necessarily threaten autonomy, but rather, hybridity acts as protection. In commemoration of winning the 2021 National Gallery Prize, he will present a new video installation "I Build My Skin with Rocks" at the National Museum of Contemporary Art Hamburger Bahnhof. At its center is a hybrid creature that is half human and half elephant, reflecting Mujinga's science fiction worldview and interest in animal survival strategies.
