    Pangrok Sulap

Punk Rock Sulap is an artist collective made up of a diverse group of members, including artists, musicians, and social activists. The collective name Pangrok is a combination of the musical genre punk rock, and Sulap, which refers to the rest huts used by farmers in Sabah. Influenced by the resistance activities of the woodblock print group Taring Padi of Yogyakarta, whom they met through the Indonesian punk band Marginal, Punk Rock Sulap has been using woodblock prints to depict the problems faced by local communities and indigenous peoples on Borneo since 2012, attracting attention from both within and outside the region. As their name, which combines radicalism and locality, suggests, their message is to revitalize the community of Sabah in northern Borneo through art, to raise awareness of their rights, to speak out against political decadence caused by greed, and to encourage unity among multiple ethnic groups.
