Oksana Pasaiko / Collected Poems Japanese edition
A collection of works by Oksana Pasaiko, an artist from the historical region of Eastern Europe sandwiched between Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Ukraine.
The mysterious artist "Oksana Pasaiko". That anonymity is entirely intentional. When she participated in Manifesta 5 in San Sebastian in 2004, she asked for the following to be written in the exhibition catalog's biography: ``Per the artist's wishes, no details about her life will be published.'' ” Similar to her extremely quiet background, she rarely exhibits her work. This suggests that she is determined to control herself.
This collection of works, ``Collected Poems,'' is composed of multiple pieces of hand soap made of carefully fixed lines of hair, which metaphorically express contested national borders. She said it's important to note that the borders depicted in the book did not result from natural features such as rivers, mountains, oceans, or lakes, but from human conflict. is.
Each time you use soap, it wears down and the surface melts smoothly. There, there was a line drawn with hair. The interaction of the combinations tells a story to us, the viewers.
This book was published by Dutch publisher Roma Publications, and our store carries a special Japanese version by Keijiban of Kanazawa. On the occasion of the release of this publication, Oksana Pasaiko held her first solo exhibition in Japan. We held a simultaneous exhibition on Keijiban's bulletin board and the new exhibition space Yonkai.
