Neven Allgeier / Fading Temples

A collection of works by German-based photographer Neven Allgaier. A sandy bonnet between the sky and the sunset. A tattoo sticker on the side of a melancholic face...In this work, dystopian images of nature intersect with the world of subculture. The author's photographs, which are portraits full of light and diffused reflections of nature, give the reader a sensual yet indirect feeling of warmth. He plays with dualities and similarities in format between subject and object, images of alternative youth culture, and the world that shapes itself.

“In Fading Temples, the desolate photographs create a kind of dreamlike world, and the people photographed there appear to be inhabitants of a world characterized by their subjectivity. The two-page structure exists within its own little universe, and the combination allows us to feel and see an emotional connection between the images, rather than being documentary-like.” _Neven Allgeier
