Josh Kern / Räuber
A collection of works by German-based photographer Josh Kern.
When Josh was 14, his mother remarried.
Josh was having trouble coming to terms with his new father. The new dad was preoccupied with money and order and organization, while Josh was all about skateboarding. The two had completely different tastes and hobbies, and Josh was always treated like a child by them, and he felt that this was a misunderstanding.
A year later, my brother Jascha was born. It was an embarrassment for Josh at the time, and everything was unpleasant. …3 years later, Josh left home and started living on his own….
After a while, her mother separated from her father-in-law, and her mother moved with her brother Jascha, who was born with her father-in-law, near Josh, who had left home.
Josh takes pictures of Jascha as he visits, and as he repeats them, Josh gradually follows and records his brother Jascha. The comfort of spending time with my brother Jascha and the camera was the perfect excuse. Being with his brother allowed Josh himself to be innocently childish too.
Jascha was a boy who cherished living things very much. Also, Jascha is very sensitive, which was not easy for a boy.
Their mother would often say that she was going through the exact same thing with Jascha as Josh.
In this collection of works, Josh, who used to be unable to get along well with his family, lovingly took pictures of his brother Jascha, who is a family member, and Josh took pictures of his brother Jascha, who has a similar part to the author. I'm here.
In terms of content, it is a very personal collection of works. It is a collection of works that you can feel with all five senses whether the photographic expression is dropped into the work.
The title ``Räuber'' means ``robber'' in German.
