芸術家のDai Fujimuraと詩人の味果丹、夫婦によるアーティストペア”Fujimura Family”。
本書は、PhMuseum 2025 Photobook Awardに選出された作品『Parallel World Family』を、初版50部限定で自費出版した作品集である。
Fujimura Familyの作品には、生々しい質感がある。
オリジナル写真を生成AIによってブレンドしながらも、そこにあるのはテクノロジーの冷たさではなく、むしろ真正面から「生」に向き合おうとする姿だった。現実と非現実、記憶と想像、自己と他者の境界を行き来しながら生み出されるイメージには、どこか身体的な、生きもののような感触がある。
AI生成画像とオリジナル写真を区別なく並置することで、「現実とは何か」「存在するとはどういうことか」という根源的な問いのきっかけを視覚化する。そしてAIをテクノロジーとして批判・礼賛するのではなく、人間の意識の延長として捉え、私たちの認識や世界の見方そのものを映し出す鏡として扱っている。
かつて確かに存在したと思い込んでいる日常の記憶。それはAIによって別の次元へと再構築され、この世界と並走するもうひとつの世界、“Parallel World”が立ち上がる。そうすることで、「私が存在するこの地点」さえも宙吊りになり、不確かさが、次第に確かなものとして立ち上がってくる。
一枚一枚の写真から立ち上がってくる、生命力に直結するようなエネルギー。
この「生」こそが、Fujimura Family。
現実なのか、そうでないのか。
記憶なのか、想像なのか。
自分のものなのか、誰かのものなのか。
その境界を問いかけながらも、ただ、そこに存在する。『Parallel World Family』。

Fujimura Family is an artist duo formed by the married couple Dai Fujimura, an artist, and Ajikatan, a poet.
This book is a self-published photobook of Parallel World Family, a project selected for the PhMuseum 2025 Photobook Award, limited to an edition of 50 copies.
There is a raw, visceral quality to Fujimura Family’s work.
Although original photographs are blended using generative AI, what emerges is not the coldness of technology, but rather an earnest attempt to confront “life” head-on. Moving between the boundaries of reality and unreality, memory and imagination, self and other, the resulting images possess something physical to them—a sensation that feels almost alive.
By placing AI-generated images alongside original photographs without distinguishing between them, the work visualizes the starting point of fundamental questions: “What is reality?” and “What does it mean to exist?” Rather than criticizing or celebrating AI as a technology, Fujimura Family treats it as an extension of human consciousness—as a mirror reflecting the very ways in which we perceive and see the world.
The memories of everyday life that we believe once certainly existed are reconstructed by AI into another dimension. As another world, a “Parallel World,” emerges alongside this one, even “the point where I exist” becomes suspended, and uncertainty gradually begins to take on a sense of certainty.
An energy that seems directly connected to the vitality of life rises from each and every photograph.
This “life” is Fujimura Family.
Is it reality, or not?
Is it memory, or imagination?
Is it mine, or someone else’s?
While questioning these boundaries, it simply exists there.
