COSMOS/CHAOS

COSMOS/CHAOS

“As viewers, we do not label the bird calls we hear as ``Colombian'' or ``Swiss.'' All you need to know is that the bird calls were recorded in these countries. But what if birds had nationalities, or even knew national borders? The installation also shows images of dead birds colliding with windows and other transparent walls. From their point of view, they would surely understand barriers, walls, windows, and other structures created by humans to divide space. Paradoxically, what we are listening to is the free chirping of birds. Birds have their own concept of territory, independent of the concept of nation or nationality. But what we see are birds that have met their fate by colliding with other kinds of artificial and architectural boundaries. ”_Excerpt from this book
