For those affected by the 2020 Noto Peninsula Earthquake that occurred on January 1, 2024, and for the reconstruction of the affected areas,

I would like to help in some small way, so I will be selling prints.

Aslı Özçelik, a photographer active in Germany, participated in this project!

All proceeds minus the cost of producing this print will be donated.

The donation will be made to an account set up by the affected municipalities to accept donations.

    Aslı Özçelik

Photographer living in Germany. She expresses stories of identity, origin, gender, and emotion through intimate portraits and snapshots of everyday life. Her works, which use a rough and dynamic method of expression but are full of delicacy and precision, have been published in two collections so far. ``Waiting for the sun to shine'' (Eigensinn, 2021), which combines painting with acrylic paints and film photography, and ``Sıhhatler Olsun'' (Eigensinn, 2023), which expresses the history of a family and the story of migrant workers. While confronting social issues, the film is filled with the real emotions of young people.

    __________

CYRO, which is also active in Ishikawa Prefecture, was reconsidering the ``significance of opening a store here.''

An earthquake occurred on January 1, 2024, and the area where our shop is located experienced a seismic intensity of 5 or higher, so I hurriedly evacuated with my 7-year-old son and family.

Fortunately, we were safe, but since that day, my son is still afraid of earthquakes and has become a little more timid than before.

I myself am very timid. There were days when I was unable to do anything because I was frightened by the aftershocks.

After a week had passed, I consulted with some of the artists who have always been involved.

They listened to my current situation and thoughts, and expressed their desire to support me.

Even if you can't do anything by yourself, if you connect with others, you can make things happen.

And I hear that it will take a long time to recover.

In the seven years since we opened our shop, we have been influenced by many things, including the Suzu International Art Festival, the aquarium, hot springs, and the Wajima morning market...Oku-Noto's culture and rich nature.

Although it is a small effort, we would like to continue to connect and support them.

In addition, the box for storing and shipping this work is a corner box made by hand by craftsmen at Ozaki Shiki in Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture.

*This item is scheduled to be shipped from around February 10th.
