オランダ出身、ニューヨークを拠点に活動する写真家・映像作家アリ・マルコポロス。1980年代にアンディ・ウォーホルのスタジオでキャリアをスタートし、アーヴィング・ペンに師事。スケートボードやヒップホップなどのサブカルチャーとファインアートを横断しながら、日常の中で出会う人々や風景を写真と映像で捉え続けている。直接的なポートレートとスナップショットを通して、日常に潜む美しさや不安をすくい上げるその実践で国際的に評価される。多数の写真集やZINEの制作でも知られており、これまでに200冊以上を制作。

Ari Marcopoulos is a Dutch-born, New York–based photographer and filmmaker. Beginning his career in the 1980s at the studio of Andy Warhol and later assisting Irving Penn, he has developed a practice that moves fluidly between subculture and fine art. Working across skateboarding, hip-hop, and everyday life, Marcopoulos continues to capture people and places through photography and film. Through direct portraits and spontaneous snapshots, his work reveals moments where beauty and unease emerge within the everyday, earning him international recognition. He is also known for his extensive production of photobooks and zines, having produced over 200 publications to date.
10.10.10 is a series composed of 24 photographs taken by Marcopoulos in a single day, using one roll of film from start to finish. Includes a sticker.
