The book was designed by Yutaro Yamada, who also worked on the logo for flotsam books, and the cover was created by Yamada actually accompanying him on a trip to the hot springs in Yamaya and directly copying the gushing hot springs and sulfur onto paper. The original pattern is faithfully reproduced by silk screen and special processing.
